Walnut veneered door after pressing. Not sanded or finished yet. I expect the color variation between veneer pieces to disappear with sanding. There’s a second door without a live edge still in the press. I will post again once they are finished and hung. There’s a lightweight door core in the middle with a solid walnut cap. It’s only about 80 pounds.

Credit to Brett Hesser for the idea of veneering over a live edge. His burl bench can be seen in the Mingei Museum.

Pressing walnut veneer panels onto a door core with solid walnut caps and a walnut live edge on one side.

Tube amp purchase from a garage sale. Jolida SJ-502a. All GE American tubes.

Using the band saw to make a custom spline with three thicknesses. All necessary to compensate for mistakes made earlier in the project. This spline will be used to attach a live edge cap to door core.
